Frequently asked questions

Wild or cultivated cordyceps?

Wild Cordyceps sinensis is hand-harvested in Nagqu, Tibet, and is graded and sold by piece size. The cultivated line is a separate, lower-priced option with smaller, more uniform pieces. See each product page for its details.

What is the difference between cordyceps sinensis and militaris?

They are different species. Sinensis is a tan caterpillar-and-stalk form from Nagqu, Tibet. Militaris is a cluster of bright orange stalks grown on grain indoors. Ten Lei Yen's wild cordyceps is Cordyceps sinensis. Sinensis vs militaris explained.

How do I compare price per gram?

Each product title shows its size grade and weight, for example Large, 38g. Divide the price by the grams, and compare pieces of the same size grade and type, because wild and cultivated pieces are graded and priced differently.
